The Role of Curriculum Lead, Instructional Development

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Curriculum Lead for Instructional Development to join its team in Al Majma'ah. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and focuses on providing expert guidance in courseware development, supporting performance metric management, and ensuring design and development activities meet cost, quality, and schedule targets. The Curriculum Lead will also engage with the RSAF Customer to understand local expectations for academic training management and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance to the team during the development of new courseware.
  • Support the development, capture, and reporting of performance metrics.
  • Perform design and development activities, ensuring achievement of targets in terms of cost, quality, and schedule.
  • Provide support in engaging and managing the RSAF Customer to develop an understanding of local expectations related to current and future management and delivery of academic training.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree, preferably from a university in an English-speaking country, or equivalent.
  • A recognized formal instructor qualification.
  • Experience as an Instructional Development Specialist or Course Designer.
  • English Language ability to IELTS (Academic) or equivalent, achieved within the last 2 years for non-native speakers.
  • A sound working knowledge of Systems Approach to Training (SAT) or Instructional Systems Development (ISD).
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of teaching/instructional experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Training Designer, preferably in a military training environment.
  • Appropriate experience in the development, management, and delivery of academic education and training programs, preferably in a military training environment.
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with external qualification bodies.
  • Good knowledge of training methodologies, analysis, design, and delivery, with a proven ability to perform within a training environment.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a team-player mindset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of configuration management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance activities.
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and grow relationships at various levels within the organization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines.
  • IT literate, commercially aware, and able to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • Strongly preferred technical writing capability.

Preferred Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of RSAF Training Standards, Curriculum Design and Development processes and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of the BAE Systems operational framework as it relates to Life Cycle Management.
  • Knowledge of RSAF Training Regime and Instructional System Design (ISD).
