About the Role

Saudi Cement Co. is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Planner to join its team in the Eastern Region, covering operations in Al Hafuf and Dammam. This full-time position is critical for ensuring the timely and efficient execution of maintenance activities by meticulously planning, estimating, scheduling, and coordinating work orders. The role focuses on optimizing the availability of facilities and equipment, alongside the necessary parts, materials, tools, personnel, and skills for effective maintenance work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of maintenance work orders, from receiving and screening to detailed planning, scheduling, and closing out.
  • Develop comprehensive weekly and daily maintenance schedules, including specific plans for major shutdowns of kilns, cement mills, and raw mills.
  • Coordinate the timely acquisition and delivery of all required resources, including spare parts, materials, special tools, and personnel.
  • Monitor maintenance performance, assess schedule compliance, and analyze labor estimates to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all Legal & Regulatory requirements, EnMS, EHS, and other related company policies.

Work Order Management and Planning

  • Receive and process maintenance work orders from various departments (excluding emergencies), screening for proper completion, clear scope, authorization, and practical completion dates.
  • Plan all maintenance work by dividing it into basic job steps, determining sequence, and defining required safety procedures, parts, tools, skills, and personnel for each step.
  • Verify the availability of required resources before scheduling and initiate actions for acquiring unavailable spare parts and materials.
  • Prepare and issue work orders for preventive maintenance programs and standing work orders for selected repetitive jobs.
  • Initiate work orders for repairs discovered during Preventive Maintenance Inspections and obtain all required approvals.
  • Maintain and prepare backlog reports for all work orders awaiting scheduling based on priority limits.

Scheduling and Resource Coordination

  • Develop weekly and daily maintenance work schedules for designated supervisors and foremen, selecting work orders that match crew skills and accounting for carry-over jobs.
  • Prepare for and participate in weekly scheduling meetings with production and maintenance departments to improve downtime through the maintenance system.
  • Develop maintenance work schedules for each shutdown of Kilns, Cement mills, and Raw mills to ensure timely, effective, and efficient execution.
  • Ensure job selection for scheduling meets established deadlines and maintains the preventive maintenance schedule, immediately notifying requesting organizations if work orders cannot be scheduled.
  • Requisition all pre-determined parts, materials, special tools, and equipment based on firm work schedules, arranging for timely delivery to job sites.
  • Cooperate with Materials Supply personnel by providing exact specifications and correct identification codes for requisitioned items with sufficient advance notice.

Performance Monitoring and Documentation

  • Carefully review completed work schedules and corresponding work orders, assessing schedule compliance and conformance to estimates.
  • Review actual labor versus estimated labor with maintenance supervisors to determine corrective measures for improving estimating methods or work execution.
  • Provide all documents required for reporting, recording, and closing out work orders in accordance with standard practices.
  • Maintain a file for each piece of controlled equipment and machinery, containing all relevant information such as equipment data, closed work orders, PM checklists, drawings, and failure reports.
  • Ensure the preparation of the weekly maintenance review meeting, including the calculation of maintenance KPIs and evaluation of the previous week's execution efficiency.
  • Personally input relevant maintenance data into the Company's computerized maintenance system for designated machinery and equipment.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Mechanical Maintenance Planner position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance planning. The role requires a strong understanding of maintenance processes, resource coordination, and a commitment to operational efficiency and safety standards. The ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate with various departments, and utilize computerized maintenance systems is essential.
