About the Role

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Waiter/Waitress to join the team in Umluj. This full-time role is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a memorable dining experience through attentive, personalized, and professional service in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Provide professional food and beverage service during breakfast, lunch, dinner, buffet, and à la carte operations.
Prepare assigned tables, service stations, and restaurant areas to meet hotel standards before each service.
Welcome guests warmly and professionally, presenting menus and providing accurate information on selections, specials, and promotions.
Take and accurately enter food and beverage orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system.
Serve food and beverages according to established service standards and sequence.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients, beverages, allergens, and dietary requirements.
Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly to requests, and check guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
Recognize VIP guests, returning guests, and special occasions, providing personalized attention.
Recommend menu items and apply upselling techniques to maximize revenue.
Coordinate with the Culinary team to ensure accurate order preparation and communicate special requests.
Present bills accurately and handle guest payments in accordance with hotel procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, restaurant areas, service stations, and operating equipment.
Handle guest complaints professionally and report unresolved issues to the Head Waiter or Restaurant Supervisor.
Adhere to all food safety, HACCP, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
Comply with hotel policies, procedures, brand standards, and health and safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably within a luxury hotel or reputable restaurant.
A hospitality or Food & Beverage-related qualification is an advantage.
Good knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
Basic knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations.

Work Environment

This role requires close collaboration with colleagues and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operations. The successful candidate will attend daily briefings, departmental meetings, and training sessions as required.
