The Role of Commis Chef

As a Commis Chef at Fairmont The Red Sea, you will be an integral part of the kitchen team, supporting the delivery of 5-star culinary experiences. This full-time position, located in Umluj or Tabuk, requires 2-5 years of experience and involves assisting with mise en place, preparation, and service while upholding high standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily mise en place and prepare ingredients according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all prepared dishes.
• Adhere to recipes, portion control guidelines, and stock management procedures.
• Assist during service and adjust preparation based on guest preferences as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
• Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe food-handling practices.
• Stay updated on new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
• Possess a comprehensive understanding of all menu items, daily highlights, and promotions.
• Support the team during busy operations to ensure smooth kitchen service.
• Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with hotel policies.
• Attend kitchen briefings and report any issues to your supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a culinary role.
• Demonstrated understanding of ultra-luxury guest expectations and brand alignment.
• Regional experience is required.
• Experience in pre-opening phases is considered an advantage.
