Botanica cultivates millions of plants to shape the natural landscapes of The Red Sea & Amaala, pioneering new global benchmarks in sustainable development. This full-time role is based in Umluj, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

The Role of Specialist Propagation

The Specialist Propagation organizes and supervises daily plant propagation activities to ensure production targets are achieved on time and according to nursery quality standards. This role involves coordinating propagation teams, monitoring plant growth and development, and maintaining propagation facilities. The incumbent leads and oversees all propagation activities, requiring advanced technical expertise in plant propagation, production planning, and nursery operations to ensure the successful production of high-quality plant material at a commercial scale. This position is suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

Follow nursery production plans and propagation schedules, organizing daily activities to achieve production targets.
Supervise propagation activities including seed sowing, stem cuttings, air layering, and plant division, ensuring adherence to nursery procedures.
Monitor rooting and germination progress, ensuring proper watering, labeling, and handling of propagated material.
Oversee daily activities within propagation houses and greenhouses, monitoring irrigation, mist systems, ventilation, and shading.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment, reporting maintenance requirements for propagation facilities and equipment.
Monitor plant health and growing conditions, identifying and reporting pest, disease, or growth issues, and coordinating corrective actions.
Ensure propagated plants meet nursery quality standards by monitoring root development, germination success, plant vigor, uniformity, and survival rates.
Supervise propagation workers, assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, and train team members on nursery procedures and propagation practices.
Monitor stocks of plants, trays, pots/tubes, growing media, labels, and propagation supplies, reporting shortages and minimizing wastage.
Maintain daily propagation records, track production quantities and losses, and prepare regular reports on activities.
Adhere to all company health and safety requirements, ensuring workers use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and promoting safe work practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess the following:

Relevant qualifications and experience in commercial plant propagation and nursery production operations.
Advanced knowledge of propagation techniques.
Experience supervising propagation teams.
This position is open to candidates with 0-1 years of professional experience.
