Engineer Electrical

About the Role

WSP is seeking an experienced Engineer Electrical to join its Construction Supervision team. This full-time position is based in Makkah, specifically for a major infrastructure development project at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC). The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the supervision, review, and coordination of electrical works, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

Role Context

The Electrical Engineer will supervise electrical construction activities related to roads, utilities, power distribution, street lighting, and telecom infrastructure. This role requires strong technical expertise and construction supervision experience to ensure the successful delivery of these systems, coordinating effectively with contractors, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor electrical infrastructure works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals.
• Oversee installation of MV and LV power distribution networks, street lighting systems, telecom infrastructure, and associated electrical works.
• Monitor construction progress and provide technical guidance to contractors and site teams.
• Witness testing, commissioning, energization, and handover activities.
• Review inspection reports and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.
• Coordinate with utility authorities, contractors, and project stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
• Identify technical issues, non-conformances, and construction challenges and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Support the Resident Engineer in project planning, reporting, risk management, and progress monitoring.
• Participate in meetings and provide technical input on electrical engineering matters.
• Prepare and review technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on construction supervision.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising electrical works for major infrastructure projects, including power distribution, street lighting, and telecom infrastructure.
• Strong technical expertise in electrical systems and construction best practices.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, with work primarily conducted at the King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) project site. The role involves collaboration with various project stakeholders, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
