Engineer Electrical

About the Role

WSP is seeking an experienced Engineer - Electrical to join the Construction Supervision team. This full-time role is based in Jeddah or King Abdullah Economic City and focuses on a major infrastructure development project. The successful candidate will oversee the supervision, review, and coordination of electrical works, ensuring compliance with project requirements and quality standards.

Role Context and Objectives

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for supervising electrical construction activities related to roads, utilities, power distribution, street lighting, and telecom infrastructure. The role involves ensuring the successful delivery of these systems, requiring strong technical expertise and construction supervision experience. Effective coordination with contractors, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor electrical infrastructure works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Review contractor submittals, including shop drawings, method statements, and material approvals.
• Oversee the installation of MV and LV power distribution networks, street lighting systems, telecom infrastructure, and associated electrical works.
• Monitor construction progress and provide technical guidance to contractors and site teams.
• Witness testing, commissioning, energization, and handover activities.
• Review inspection reports and ensure quality standards are maintained throughout project execution.
• Coordinate with utility authorities, contractors, and project stakeholders to facilitate project delivery.
• Identify technical issues, non-conformances, and construction challenges, and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Support the Resident Engineer in project planning, reporting, risk management, and progress monitoring.
• Participate in meetings and provide technical input on electrical engineering matters.
• Prepare and review technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on construction supervision.
• Demonstrated experience in overseeing electrical works for infrastructure projects, including roads, utilities, power distribution, street lighting, and telecom.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems and industry best practices.
• Ability to effectively coordinate with various project stakeholders.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position within WSP's Construction Supervision team, contributing to a significant infrastructure development in King Abdullah Economic City. The role requires on-site presence and active involvement in project execution.
