About the Opportunity

Egis (KSA) is seeking an experienced MEP Design Lead Mechanical to join its engineering team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time leadership position involves overseeing the mechanical design aspects of significant airport infrastructure projects. The role requires ensuring designs comply with international standards and Saudi Building Code requirements, while leading a team of mechanical engineers and managing complex coordination across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and design professionals on airport and aviation facility projects.
• Develop comprehensive mechanical design solutions for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems within airport environments.
• Manage the mechanical design phase from concept development through construction documentation.
• Coordinate effectively with architects, electrical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless system integration and clash-free designs.
• Utilize BIM and advanced design software to create detailed mechanical models and construction documents.
• Ensure all designs comply with the Saudi Building Code, international standards, and specific airport requirements.
• Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare technical specifications, calculations, and design reports for airport projects.
• Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to address design challenges and implement solutions.
• Monitor project timelines and budgets while maintaining design excellence.
• Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in MEP design.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in MEP mechanical design.
• Minimum of 4 years of direct experience on airport, aviation, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency in MEP design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design tools.
• Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building automation.
• Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong understanding of the Saudi Building Code and international design standards (*, ASHRAE, NFPA).

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in BIM modeling and coordination.
• Experience with design coordination software and clash detection tools.
• Familiarity with airport-specific mechanical requirements and operational constraints.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
