About the Pool & Recreation Attendant Role

This full-time position is for a Pool & Recreation Attendant at Delta Hotels by Marriott, a brand within Marriott International, located in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role is centered on creating a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for guests utilizing the hotel's recreation facilities.

Role Purpose

The Pool & Recreation Attendant is responsible for actively encouraging guest participation in various recreation activities, ensuring the safety and welfare of all guests, and maintaining the cleanliness and operational readiness of recreational equipment and facilities. This role requires a proactive approach to guest interaction and strict adherence to safety protocols and company standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Encourage, recruit, register, and schedule guests for recreation activities.
• Promote a positive and relaxing atmosphere for guests while enforcing recreation facility rules and regulations to ensure safety.
• Provide accurate information regarding available recreation facilities and activities.
• Observe activity within the recreational facility, respond appropriately to emergencies, and identify situations where guests may not safely participate, informing supervisors as required.
• Clean and maintain recreational equipment and supplies to ensure readiness and hygiene.
• Report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management promptly.
• Complete all mandatory safety training and certifications.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintain a clean and professional appearance, and protect company assets and confidential information.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address service needs, and assist individuals with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues, fostering positive working relationships and supporting team goals.
• Process payments for rental equipment, recreation activities, facility rentals, or retail sales.
• Comply with all quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Read and visually verify information in various formats and inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent.
• Experience: No related work experience or supervisory experience is required (0-1 years).
• Certifications:
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Recreation Equipment certification
  • Any additional certification or training required by local and state agencies.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance, and objects exceeding 50 pounds with assistance.
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Capacity to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Ability to navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as stairs and/or service ramps.
• Requirement to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
