Role Overview

Marriott International is seeking a Restaurant Bartender for Delta Hotels by Marriott in Jeddah. This full-time position is open to candidates with 0-1 years of experience in a related field. The role focuses on delivering precise beverage service and maintaining high operational standards within the restaurant bar.

Core Responsibilities

The Restaurant Bartender is primarily responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests. This involves adhering to specified recipes and using accurate measuring systems to ensure consistency and quality. Key duties include:

• Preparing drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.
• Issuing, opening, and serving wine and champagne bottles.
• Preparing fresh garnishes for drinks.

Operational Duties and Compliance

This role involves maintaining the bar area, managing supplies, and ensuring financial accuracy. Adherence to company policies and safety procedures is essential.

• Setting up and maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.
• Stocking ice, glassware, and paper supplies, and transporting supplies to the bar set-up area.
• Washing soiled glassware and removing soiled wares from the bar top and tables to a designated area.
• Anticipating and communicating replenishment needs for supplies.
• Processing all payment methods accurately.
• Counting the bank at the end of the shift, completing designated cashier reports, resolving discrepancies, dropping off receipts, and securing the bank.
• Securing liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
• Completing all designated closing duties.
• Following all company safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions, and completing required safety training and certifications.
• Ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.

Guest Service and Team Engagement

The Bartender is expected to provide attentive service to guests and foster positive working relationships with colleagues.

• Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to company standards.
• Anticipating and addressing guests’ service needs, and thanking guests with genuine appreciation.
• Speaking with others using clear and professional language.
• Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues, supporting the team to reach common goals, and listening and responding appropriately to concerns.
• Ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Reading and visually verifying information in a variety of formats, including small print.

Physical Demands of the Role

This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform various movements throughout the shift.

• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
• Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Navigating sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as stairs and service ramps.
• Reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
