Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Dar Al Riyadh is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of wet utilities systems for major infrastructure and development projects in Jeddah. This is a full-time, office-based position focused on delivering high-quality, compliant designs.

Role Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the mechanical design aspects of various wet utility systems. This includes potable water, firefighting, irrigation, stormwater, and sewage networks, as well as sewage treatment plants and lifting stations. The role requires ensuring all designs adhere to both Saudi and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of wet utility systems, including water distribution, irrigation, stormwater drainage, and sewage collection networks.
• Oversee mechanical design for sewage treatment plants (STP) and stormwater/sewage lifting stations.
• Prepare and review technical drawings, layouts, design reports, and material specifications.
• Develop design deliverables such as Bills of Quantities (BOQs), equipment schedules, and design calculations.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and structural teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Saudi authority requirements (*, SBC, NWC, RC, MOMRA) and international standards.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and CAD designers.
• Participate in internal design reviews and client meetings to present and defend design choices.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 12 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically with wet utilities systems.
• Demonstrated experience in leading design projects for infrastructure and development.
• Strong understanding of Saudi authority requirements and international design standards.

Work Environment

This position is based in Jeddah and requires full-time, office-based work. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, collaborating closely with various engineering disciplines.
