About the Barista Role at Delta Hotels and Resorts®

Delta Hotels and Resorts® is seeking a Barista to join our team in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience who are dedicated to providing excellent guest service and expertly preparing beverages. The Barista plays a crucial role in ensuring guest satisfaction through efficient service and maintaining high standards of bar operation within our hospitality environment.

Key Operational Duties

• Prepare guest drink orders accurately according to specified recipes and measuring systems.
• Issue, open, and serve wine and champagne bottles as required.
• Set up and maintain the cleanliness and optimal condition of the bar, bar unit, tables, and all associated tools.
• Prepare fresh garnishes for various drinks.
• Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies, and transport supplies to the bar set-up area.
• Wash soiled glassware and remove soiled wares from the bar top and tables, placing them in designated areas.
• Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs for all bar supplies.
• Process all payment methods efficiently.
• Count the bank at the end of each shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure the bank.
• Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
• Complete all assigned closing duties.

Guest Service and Professional Standards

• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; and complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance, uphold confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, proactively anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and express genuine appreciation.
• Communicate with colleagues and guests using clear and professional language.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members, support the team in achieving common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Ensure consistent adherence to quality expectations and standards in all tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 0-1 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to follow recipes and maintain high standards of beverage preparation and service.
• Strong commitment to guest satisfaction and adherence to operational procedures.

Physical Demands of the Role

• Ability to read and visually verify information presented in various formats, including small print.
• Capability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for the duration of an entire work shift.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Proficiency in grasping, turning, and manipulating objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Capacity to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
• Ability to navigate over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps.
• Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
