Field Service Representative / Sonar Technician

About the Company and Role

DISCOVERED is a leading defense company in Saudi Arabia, specializing in advanced technical support and maintenance services for naval forces. We are seeking a Field Service Representative / Sonar Technician to join our team in Jeddah. This is a contract role for 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to 2 years.

Role Overview

The Field Service Representative will provide on-site technical assistance for the maintenance of towed sonar systems installed on naval corvettes. While primarily based in Jeddah, deployment to other sites may be required based on operational customer needs. The role focuses on ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of critical sonar equipment through comprehensive maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth diagnostics to identify technical faults in towed sonar systems, utilizing available maintenance resources.
• Perform planned preventive maintenance at organizational and intermediate levels (OLM/ILM) to minimize downtime, extend equipment lifespan, and ensure system readiness for operations.
• Execute corrective maintenance, including repairs and replacement of faulty components, at OLM/ILM level, based on available tools and spare parts.
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work, identified problems, and implemented solutions, submitting regular reports to management.
• Assist in spare parts inventory management by tracking incoming and outgoing components.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OEM procedures and are conducted safely.
• Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Engineering Support Plan, which estimates required engineering support activities for each period.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated technical expertise in sonar systems or similar complex defense electronics.
• Ability to perform diagnostics, preventive, and corrective maintenance.

Work Environment

This role involves working directly on-site with naval forces, primarily in Jeddah, with potential deployments to other operational locations as required. The work is contract-based, focusing on critical defense systems.
