About the Role

WTS Energy is seeking a Superintendent Structural/Welding for a CRPO Project. This full-time position is based in Ras Tannurah, Eastern Province, and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience. The Superintendent will oversee and coordinate all structural fabrication, assembly, fit-up, welding, and erection activities within CRPO (Construction, Repair, Projects & Offshore) projects.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that all structural and welding work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, classification society requirements, and project schedules. The Superintendent will be a key leader in maintaining high standards across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise structural fabrication, welding, assembly, and erection activities for offshore and marine projects.
  • Coordinate daily production activities to achieve project milestones and schedules.
  • Monitor workforce productivity and optimize resource utilization in fabrication and construction areas.
  • Review engineering drawings, work packages, welding procedures, and project specifications prior to execution.
  • Ensure compliance with approved construction methodologies and work processes.
  • Oversee all welding activities in accordance with approved WPS, PQR, and applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Monitor structural fabrication activities including cutting, fit-up, alignment, assembly, and installation.
  • Ensure weld quality requirements are maintained and minimize repairs through effective supervision.
  • Coordinate with Quality Control teams for inspections, NDT activities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure proper control and utilization of welding consumables, materials, and equipment.

HSE and Quality Assurance

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE policies and procedures.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and pre-job safety briefings.
  • Ensure all personnel adhere to permit-to-work systems and site safety requirements.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure all fabrication and welding activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, and international standards.
  • Support internal audits, client inspections, and third-party inspections.
  • Maintain accurate records of production progress, welding activities, and inspection status.

Planning, Coordination, and Leadership

  • Work closely with Engineering, Planning, Production, Quality, and Project Management teams.
  • Monitor progress against schedules and identify potential delays or bottlenecks.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and ensure work aligns with project expectations.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide regular progress reports.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise foremen, supervisors, welders, fitters, and fabrication personnel.
  • Evaluate team performance and identify training needs.
  • Promote teamwork and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a similar structural/welding superintendent role, preferably within offshore and marine projects. A strong understanding of structural fabrication, welding procedures, quality standards, and HSE regulations is essential.
