The Role of EH&S Supervisor

Air Products is seeking an experienced EH&S Supervisor to manage safety and environmental concerns for a 380kV Substation, 380kV underground cable, and 380kV OHTL Project in Tabuk, specifically in Duba and Tabuk. This full-time role requires a candidate with over 10 years of experience in EH&S, particularly in managing substation and OHTL transmission lines, along with strong leadership skills to independently manage the project site and handle emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the full implementation of the project EH&S Plan.
• Promote a ‘Total Safety Culture’ and support related leadership activities.
• Act as a coach for EH&S team members and contractors.
• Support contractors’ HAZID processes and the Project Emergency Response Plan.
• Ensure EH&S risks are assessed and mitigation measures are in place.
• Assist the project team in identifying safety concerns.
• Coordinate inspections and audits within the accountable area.
• Ensure safety equipment is regularly inspected, operational, and color-coded.
• Support the implementation of the Permit to Work process and monitor adherence to LOTO procedures.
• Ensure all permits are adequately completed and implemented on site.
• Review and monitor contractors’ safety programs and work practices.
• Provide EH&S information and expertise to the site team to ensure compliance with Air Products standards and local laws.
• Coordinate safety training for contractor organizations.
• Participate in and lead safety promotion events, campaigns, and programs.
• Provide leadership for prompt prioritization and coordination of unforeseen site issues, escalating to the Air Products EH&S Lead or Manager as needed.
• Review JSAs developed by contractors to ensure risk mitigation.
• Attend contractor TBTs and Pre-Task Safety Talks, providing input as applicable.
• Perform regular safety dialogues and formal PTW/JSA reviews.
• Provide input for accurate completion of EH&S reports.
• Ensure all incidents are reported immediately to the Area Construction Manager and EH&S Area Lead.
• Act as a member of the Site Emergency Response Team as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental, health and safety, or a relevant field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent is mandatory.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience handling EH&S issues in substation and OHTL transmission line projects.
• Deep understanding of codes, standards, and regulations concerning environmental protection, occupational health, and safety, particularly in power transmission and distribution projects.
• Proficiency in incident investigations.
• Excellent supervisory, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work long hours and travel to remote areas to oversee project sites.
• Experience in Saudi Arabia is an advantage.
• A KSA/International Driving license is required.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Physically fit and able to spend a large proportion of the day on site.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Tabuk, covering project sites in Duba and Tabuk. The role involves significant time on-site and requires flexibility for extended working hours and travel to remote locations.
