Executive Housekeeper I

About the Role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Executive Housekeeper I to oversee daily shift operations for Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry, if applicable, in Makkah. This full-time role involves directing and collaborating with employees to ensure guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas are consistently clean and well-maintained. The Executive Housekeeper I will conduct inspections, ensure accountability for corrective actions, and contribute to guest and employee satisfaction while managing the operating budget. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and efficient communication of guest room status to the Front Desk.
• Collaborate with the Engineering department on guestroom maintenance needs.
• Supervise the property's general cleaning schedule and daily Housekeeping shift operations, ensuring compliance with all policies, standards, and procedures.
• Obtain lists of rooms to be cleaned immediately and prospective check-outs to prepare work assignments.
• Manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies for guestrooms, cleaning, and uniforms.
• Support and supervise an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces, communicating areas needing attention to staff and ensuring follow-up.
• Ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.

Departmental Cost Management

• Participate in managing the department’s controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
• Understand the impact of departmental operations on overall property financial goals and objectives.
• Utilize budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports for financial management of the department.

Customer Service Excellence

• Respond to and resolve guest problems and complaints effectively.
• Strive for continuous improvement in service performance.
• Empower employees to deliver excellent customer service and emphasize guest satisfaction during departmental meetings.

Human Resources Activities

• Participate in the investigation of employee accidents as needed.
• Supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
• Ensure employees understand expectations and parameters, and that property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
• Oversee disciplinary procedures and documentation according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs), supporting the Peer Review Process.
• Provide feedback to employees on service behaviors.
• Utilize on-the-job training tools for new room attendants and provide necessary follow-up training.
• Participate in the employee performance appraisal process and assist in interviewing and hiring team members with appropriate skills.
• Support a departmental orientation program for new hires and participate in employee progressive discipline procedures.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in housekeeping operations.
• Demonstrated ability to direct and supervise a team.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency in managing operational budgets and understanding financial goals.
• Commitment to ensuring guest and employee satisfaction.
