About Damas Jewellery and the Role

Damas Jewellery, a leading jeweller in the Middle East with a rich heritage dating back to 1907, is seeking a Store Manager for its operations in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Headquartered in Dubai, UAE, Damas operates 300 stores across the GCC, employing over 2000 people. The company offers a diverse portfolio of over 40 prestigious international brands alongside its own in-house collections. This full-time role is essential for maintaining Damas's high standards and achieving business objectives in the region.

Role Overview

The Store Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of store performance, encompassing sales, profitability, daily operations, asset protection, and human resources. This position involves motivating, training, and inspiring the store team to achieve established productivity and sales targets, ensuring consistent adherence to Damas standards across all functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the store.
• Ensure the store consistently meets Damas operational standards for tidiness, product display, and overall security.
• Maintain comprehensive product knowledge of both Damas and competitor offerings.
• Oversee the delivery of excellent in-store customer service, following DSCE guidelines, including understanding customer needs and providing accurate product and price information.
• Ensure 100% stock accuracy through effective stock control, regular counting of valuable items (gold bars, coins, certified diamonds), and participation in stock-taking exercises.
• Manage store security, including the safe custody of keys and ensuring all security standards (CCTV, alarms) are met.
• Ensure the accuracy and proper functioning of all store equipment, such as weighing scales, calculators, and diamond testers.
• Monitor the Repair Order register/Navision to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of customer requirements.
• Ensure accurate invoicing with no discrepancies in cash/credit transactions and regularly check customer bookings.
• Inspect all jewellery upon receipt, on display, or in back-up stock, identifying and addressing items requiring attention (*, cleaning, polishing, rhodium).
• Ensure the availability of adequate quantities of all packing materials and report low inventory or non-availability immediately.
• Communicate sales plans to team members and ensure targets are achieved with active contribution from all sales personnel.
• Ensure all staff adhere to store and work timings, schedules, break times, and grooming standards as per the HR manual.
• Handle staff grievances in line with HR policies, ensure high staff motivation and energy levels, and conduct yearly Performance Appraisals.
• Develop a talent pipeline within the store team.
• Maintain all petty cash expenses according to Finance Department guidelines and ensure timely submission after due approvals.
• Stay informed about current market trends relevant to the jewellery industry.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in retail management, preferably within the luxury goods or jewellery sector.
• Demonstrated ability to manage sales, operations, and staff effectively.
• Strong leadership and team motivation skills.
• Excellent understanding of retail KPIs and financial management principles.
• Proficiency in stock control, inventory management, and operational procedures.

Work Type and Location

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role requires a dedicated presence within the store to oversee all aspects of its operation.
