Role Summary

The Electrical Low Voltage Engineer is responsible for the comprehensive operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of low voltage electrical systems. This position ensures the safe, reliable, and continuous functionality of facility infrastructure. Key activities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, monitoring system performance, diagnosing faults, and coordinating with various technical teams to uphold safety and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role include:

Maintenance & Operations: Operate, maintain, and monitor low voltage electrical systems such as power distribution boards (LV panels), lighting systems (indoor, outdoor, emergency), UPS systems and batteries, fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV, security systems, structured cabling, and other ELV systems (*, BMS interfaces, PA systems). Perform preventive maintenance according to schedules and manufacturer recommendations, and carry out corrective maintenance and emergency repairs to minimize downtime. Inspect electrical installations for compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Troubleshooting & Fault Management: Diagnose faults in low voltage systems and implement effective corrective actions. Analyze recurring issues and recommend system improvements. Respond promptly to breakdowns and operational alarms.
Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to electrical codes, safety regulations, and company procedures. Prepare risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) as required, and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and logs.
Coordination & Reporting: Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for specialized maintenance activities. Support the commissioning, testing, and handover of new or modified systems. Prepare technical reports, maintenance documentation, and performance summaries, and communicate effectively with supervisors, facility managers, and other engineering disciplines.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of low voltage electrical systems.
