About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking an ES&H Advisor for the NG Powerline project in Ar Rjum. This full-time position supports the implementation of environmental, safety, and health management programs and systems, providing technical oversight for project activities in Taif, Riyadh, and Jeddah.

Project Context

The Ar Rjum Project involves the development of a greenfield gold mine, including open-pit operations, processing facilities, and supporting infrastructure. The project is located within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km northeast of Taif and 26 km south of Al Mouwayh, a town on the highway between Jeddah and Riyadh.

Job Summary

The ES&H Advisor is responsible for supporting the execution of Bechtel's Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) program and management system. This role provides technical guidance and oversight to ensure the safety of personnel, protection of property, and environmental stewardship within the National Grid Power line area.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate ES&H disciplines to facilitate the implementation of Bechtel's ES&H program and management system, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and contractual commitments.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures for employee safety, health, and environmental protection.
• Maintain ES&H databases, including incident records, audit findings, and corrective actions.
• Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and recommend improvements.
• Identify and coordinate the use of relevant software systems and electronic innovations for ES&H personnel.
• Lead teams in conducting risk assessments, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring for ES&H issues.
• Prepare communications, reports, and documents for program execution and record retention.
• Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident investigation reports.
• Recommend and implement process improvements to minimize hazard potential.
• Participate in and potentially lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
• Coordinate ES&H recognition programs.
• Research complex issues and provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
• Provide support to ES&H field and office personnel across all ES&H disciplines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor degree or higher in an ES&H discipline.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in influencing at a leadership level.
• 6-8 years of ES&H experience in the industrial construction or heavy engineering industry.
• 2+ years of direct supervision experience with a team of 3-4 ES&H professionals, or 2+ years of ES&H experience in a complex work environment.
