About the Opportunity

Makkah Medical Center Hospital, located in Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, is expanding its medical services and is seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Consultant. This full-time position is for a medical professional with 5-10 years of experience who is committed to delivering high standards of patient care.

The Role of Internal Medicine Consultant

The Internal Medicine Consultant will play a crucial role in patient management across various settings, from outpatient clinics to inpatient wards. This position involves managing complex cases, collaborating with other specialties, and contributing to the professional development of junior medical staff within a quality-focused environment.

Core Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients in both outpatient clinics and inpatient wards.
• Manage complex and critical cases, coordinating effectively with other medical specialties.
• Supervise residents and registrars, actively contributing to teaching programs.
• Ensure compliance with approved quality and patient safety standards, including CBAHI and JCI guidelines.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• MBBS / MD from a recognized medical school.
• Valid Consultant – Internal Medicine classification and registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
• Board certification (Saudi, Arab, American, Canadian, or British) or an equivalent recognized qualification.
• Solid experience of 5-10 years in managing inpatient, outpatient, and emergency internal medicine cases.
• Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Proven ability to independently manage multi-morbid and critically ill patients.
• Experience in supervising and teaching residents and junior medical staff.
• Familiarity with accreditation and quality standards (CBAHI / JCI) and infection control protocols.
• Eligibility to work in Saudi Arabia (transferable iqama for non-Saudi applicants).

Essential Skills and Attributes

• Competent use of electronic medical record (EMR) systems and accurate clinical documentation.
• Strong communication skills for effective patient interaction and team collaboration.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
