About Lucid and the Role

Lucid is an automotive company focused on creating mobility experiences through innovation. The company develops vehicles based on proprietary technology and software-defined architectures. This Full-time Maintenance Team Leader position is based in Makkah, specifically in King Abdullah Economic City, and is responsible for leading shift maintenance operations within Powertrain manufacturing.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Team Leader will oversee shift maintenance execution for Powertrain manufacturing, ensuring safe equipment recovery, disciplined preventive maintenance, rapid escalation, technical coaching, and reliable handover across highly automated Drive Unit and Battery operations. The primary mission is to deliver safe, capable, and sustainable Powertrain operations while developing Saudi technical leadership capabilities and supporting launch, ramp-up, and production readiness. This is a hands-on leadership role providing front-line guidance to maintenance technicians, coordinating planned and reactive work, controlling risks, and safely restoring equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead all maintenance interventions in compliance with LOTO, electrical and high-voltage controls, machine guarding, interlock, permit-to-work, and approved work-instruction requirements.
Translate production plans, equipment condition, and CMMS backlog into a prioritized shift maintenance plan.
Allocate work based on competency and certification, balancing resources across critical stations.
Lead structured shift start, tier response, and end-of-shift handover, communicating equipment status and open risks accurately.
Maintain disciplined work-order control, labor booking, failure coding, and technical notes within CMMS.
Manage daily and weekly PM schedule attainment, reviewing job-plan quality and verifying task completion.
Coordinate planned interventions, shutdown activities, spare-parts readiness, and post-maintenance validation.
Assume front-line command during breakdowns, establishing safe conditions and guiding systematic diagnostics.
Lead or support QRQC, 5-Why, fishbone, and structured root-cause analysis for significant and repeat failures.
Track chronic losses, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, repeat failure, PM compliance, and backlog health to prioritize countermeasures.
Coach production teams on autonomous maintenance tasks such as cleaning, inspection, and lubrication.
Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and EHS to protect takt, cycle, equipment capability, and product quality.
Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians through daily direction, OJT, feedback, and cross-training.
Build Saudi national maintenance capability through knowledge transfer, qualification plans, and paired working.
Support equipment installation, commissioning, run-at-rate, punch-list closure, training, and documentation handover for Powertrain launch.

Qualifications and Experience

5-10 years of experience in maintenance leadership or a related field.
Demonstrated leadership in safety, risk control, and quality during maintenance and restart operations.
Proven ability to sustain stable flow, equipment availability, and structured escalation of constraints.
Experience in reducing downtime, repeat failures, scrap, rework, energy, parts, and consumable losses using data-based countermeasures.
Capability to build an accountable, inclusive, and technically capable team through coaching, knowledge transfer, and qualification.
Experience leading tier actions, 6S, Kaizen, QRQC, RCA, and closed-loop corrective actions.

Work Environment and Expectations

The role operates within a fast-paced manufacturing environment focused on Powertrain production. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate visible leadership in safety, disciplined risk control, and zero tolerance for unauthorized bypass or uncontrolled temporary repairs. A commitment to protecting product conformity, traceability, and calibrated-tool discipline is essential. The role requires fostering continuous improvement through various methodologies and building a strong, capable team.
