Modern Mills Company, operating in the Makkah region with locations in Jeddah and Makkah, is seeking a Manager Commodity Buyer. This full-time role is central to ensuring the efficient and strategic procurement of essential feed raw materials for the company's operations.

Role Overview

The Manager Commodity Buyer is responsible for executing the procurement of feed raw materials through international commodity sourcing, market analysis, supplier negotiations, and trade execution. This position ensures an uninterrupted supply, competitive costs, and effective supply risk management, directly supporting the company's operational and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute procurement of feed raw materials to maintain uninterrupted production and optimal inventory levels.
• Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives and procurement plans.
• Manage RFQs, tenders, commercial evaluations, negotiations, and purchase agreements.
• Conduct commodity purchases in line with approved strategies, Delegation of Authority, and targets for quality, cost, and delivery.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local and international suppliers, brokers, and logistics partners.
• Evaluate supplier performance against KPIs and identify alternative sourcing opportunities to mitigate supply risk.
• Negotiate and execute international purchase contracts, ensuring favorable pricing, payment terms, and contractual conditions.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, Incoterms, and contractual obligations, while identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.
• Coordinate the execution of international purchase contracts from award to cargo receipt, monitoring schedules and resolving operational issues.
• Liaise with Logistics, Finance, and Quality departments regarding shipment execution, payments, documentation, and cargo acceptance.

Market Intelligence and Cost Management

A key aspect of this role involves continuous monitoring and analysis of international and local commodity markets, including CBOT futures, freight movements, exchange rates, and supply-demand trends. The Manager Commodity Buyer will develop total landed cost analyses to inform sourcing decisions, identify cost optimization opportunities, and support budgeting and forecasting with market intelligence and commodity outlooks.

Collaboration and Process Excellence

• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing, Finance, Logistics, and Quality to align procurement activities with production requirements.
• Support the S&OP process with procurement updates and market outlooks, participating in strategic sourcing and business improvement projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement efficiency through automation, analytics, and best practices.
• Develop and maintain procurement cost models, prepare reports on procurement, commodity outlooks, savings, and supplier performance.
• Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of commodity procurement policies, procedures, and governance.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records and supporting audits.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in commodity buying or a similar procurement role, demonstrating a strong understanding of international commodity markets and supply chain management.
