About the Role: Medical Science Liaison Biologics

AstraZeneca is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Biologics in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role requires extensive scientific expertise in the therapeutic area to engage in scientific discussions and presentations with Key External Experts (KEEs) regarding disease areas and clinical data in a non-promotional context. The MSL is responsible for generating actionable insights from KEEs and communicating these to the brand team to inform Medical and Brand strategy. This position involves working with external stakeholders to foster scientific and strategic partnerships within major hospitals, institutions, and non-traditional stakeholders such as policy makers and payer groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify, prioritize, and expand KEE networks to include non-traditional stakeholders based on scientific/clinical expertise and influence on practice change.
• Engage in scientific discussions and medical advancements in a balanced, objective, and accurate manner.
• Provide insights into the local medical community, clinical practice trends, HCP insights, and gaps in scientific knowledge.
• Foster scientific partnerships with KEEs to advance disease understanding and achieve evidence-based changes in medical practice.
• Interact with the medical community on various medical projects, including clinical trials, Non-Interventional Studies, and Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISSs).
• Identify and train speakers for local events and provide recommendations for advisory board participants.
• Present scientific data to healthcare professionals (HCPs) in both group and one-on-one settings.
• Collect and share actionable insights with internal stakeholders to enhance the value and appropriate use of AstraZeneca products.
• Organize and facilitate scientific events for healthcare institutions and their multidisciplinary teams related to the therapeutic area.
• Act as a scientific expert for internal stakeholders, demonstrating knowledge of AstraZeneca products, emerging therapies, and clinical trials.
• Provide scientific support at AstraZeneca-sponsored educational events and plan regional medical activities during product launch processes.
• Respond to unsolicited requests for information about unapproved AstraZeneca products or uses, presenting information objectively and factually.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical Affairs role within the pharmaceutical industry in Saudi Arabia.
• Experience in the Respiratory/Biologics therapy area.
• Familiarity with the healthcare environment, including opinion leaders, the medical community, and related dynamics in Saudi Arabia.
• Demonstrated track record of driving clinical practice shaping and impactful stakeholder mobilization.

Desirable Skills and Attributes

• Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of end-to-end project management.
• Full understanding of the medical role in driving innovative value strategies and supporting patient access to evidence-based treatment.
• Established track record of basic or clinical research.
