About Makkah Medical Center Hospital

Makkah Medical Center Hospital, located in Mecca, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, is currently expanding its Obstetrics & Gynecology department. The hospital is committed to delivering safe and comprehensive care for both mothers and babies within the region.

The Opportunity in Obstetrics & Gynecology

We are seeking dedicated medical professionals to join our team in full-time roles as either a Consultant OB/GYN or a Senior Registrar OB/GYN. These positions are integral to enhancing our capacity to provide high-quality obstetric and gynecological services, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and contributing to a supportive clinical environment.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidates will contribute to the delivery of comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care. Specific responsibilities will vary based on the role:

  • For Consultant OB/GYN: Perform cesarean sections and instrumental deliveries, manage high-risk pregnancies, conduct gynecological laparoscopy and hysteroscopy, and manage obstetric emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, and shoulder dystocia. This role also involves supervising registrars and residents and leading clinical teams.
  • For Senior Registrar OB/GYN: Independently manage normal deliveries and assist in or perform cesarean sections. Manage obstetric and gynecological emergencies under the supervision of a consultant. Provide coverage for antenatal clinics, labor and delivery, and inpatient wards.
  • Both roles require competent use of EMR systems and accurate clinical documentation.

Qualifications for Consultant OB/GYN

  • MBBS / MD from a recognized medical school.
  • Valid Consultant OB/GYN classification and registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
  • Board certification (Saudi, Arab, American, Canadian, or British) or an accredited fellowship in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising registrars and residents and leading a clinical team.
  • Familiarity with CBAHI / JCI standards and maternal safety protocols.

Qualifications for Senior Registrar OB/GYN

  • MBBS / MD from a recognized medical school.
  • Valid Senior Registrar OB/GYN classification and registration from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
  • Completed residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology (board or equivalent).
  • Experience in antenatal clinics, labor and delivery, and inpatient ward coverage.

General Requirements and Work Context

  • Valid BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification is required for both positions.
  • Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage.
  • Eligibility to work in Saudi Arabia is mandatory, including a transferable iqama for non-Saudi applicants.
  • Senior Registrars should be willing to work a rotating on-call and night shift schedule.
