About the Role

The Royal Commission Medical Center Yanbu is seeking an Anesthesia Specialist to join their team in Yanbu. This full-time role involves delivering comprehensive patient care according to departmental standards, ensuring patient safety during anesthesia procedures, and maintaining an optimal operating room environment. The position is open to candidates with 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver total patient care in adherence to departmental standards.
• Ensure correct patient identification for anesthesia procedures.
• Review laboratory investigations, compare results to normal limits, and inform the Anesthetist of any discrepancies.
• Verify that surgical consent is signed and the type of surgery is clearly specified and legible.
• Assist with patient positioning before, during, and after surgery.
• Correctly position operating lights as required.
• Initiate intravenous infusions and connect patients to monitoring devices.
• Observe patients for potential reactions to anesthesia and report promptly to the Anesthetist.
• Monitor and record the patient's hemodynamic status.
• Document time, drugs used, and other pertinent information accurately in the anesthesia record.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding changes in patient condition.
• Maintain a quiet and orderly environment in the operating room throughout procedures.
• Responsible for charging utilized supplies.
• Provide skilled anesthetic assistance, including selecting appropriate equipment.
• Possess proficient working knowledge of anesthesia equipment and instruments.
• Check all equipment before each use and monitor scavenging systems.
• Ensure daily cleaning, maintenance, and care of equipment.
• Report any equipment requiring maintenance or repair.
• Perform quantitative and qualitative tests on anesthetic machines and equipment.
• Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and efficient technical care.
• Contribute to quality care through performance improvement techniques.

Organizational Compliance

• Adhere to RCMC policies and procedures, including dress code and chain of command.
• Attend annual reviews and departmental in-services.
• Prepare necessary reports.
• Maintain positive working relationships with vendors, physicians, and staff.
• Comply with all regulatory requirements, including national and JCI regulations.
• Wear identification while on duty.
• Ensure compliance with policies regarding department operations, fire, safety, and infection control.
• Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the hospital.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record and represent the organization professionally.
• Maintain organizational confidentiality and comply with ethical business practices.
• Resolve personnel concerns at the departmental level, utilizing the grievance process as needed.
• Complete annual education requirements.
• Report any negative, abnormal, or unexpected events/incidents promptly using the appropriate Occurrence Variance Report (OVR) form.
