About the Role

The Royal Commission Medical Center Yanbu is seeking a Staff Nurse - II Nursing - Pediatric Ward to join their team in Yanbu. This is a full-time position requiring 0-1 years of experience, focusing on direct patient care and collaboration within a healthcare team. The role involves applying basic nursing procedures, observing clinical interventions, and maintaining accurate patient records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist registered nurses and healthcare team members in providing direct patient care.
  • Apply basic nursing procedures, including vital signs, medication administration, and wound care.
  • Observe and participate in various clinical procedures, treatments, and interventions.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and their families, providing emotional support and education.
  • Assist in patient assessment, gather health history, and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including nursing assessments, care plans, and progress notes.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and response to therapy, intervening promptly as needed.
  • Document patient assessment findings, responses to nursing intervention, and progress towards problem resolution.
  • Practice infection control methods/protocols and maintain awareness of safety protocols.
  • Initiate emergency resuscitative measures according to established protocols.

Administrative and Professional Duties

  • Follow and assist in the implementation and interpretation of RCMC policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to and promote the established values of the organization, including mission, ethics, and goals.
  • Monitor compliance with legislative requirements and organizational policies, taking action to correct non-compliance.
  • Attend and actively participate in assigned committee meetings and departmental meetings (75% attendance required).
  • Demonstrate ongoing and active continuous education, maintaining RCMC annual competencies.
  • Maintain an excellent attendance record and represent the organization professionally.
  • Maintain organizational confidentiality and comply with ethical business practices.
  • Report any negative, abnormal, or unexpected events/incidents promptly using the Electronic Occurrence Variance Report (eOVR).

Patient Education and Advocacy

  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Advocate for patients' rights, preferences, and needs within the healthcare system.
  • Promote health promotion and disease prevention initiatives to optimize patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 0-1 years of experience in a relevant nursing field.
  • Knowledge of clinical aspects related to pediatric nursing.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with patients and families.
  • Proficiency in basic nursing procedures.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous education.
  • Adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
