About the Data Analytics Officer Role

Almoosa Health Group is seeking a Data Analytics Officer to join their team in Al-Ahsa, Eastern Region. This full-time position is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience in data analytics.

Key Responsibilities

The primary focus of this role is on analytics and dashboard development. This includes designing, developing, and maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to support clinical, operational, financial, quality, and population health initiatives. The officer will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into analytical solutions, and deliver actionable insights. Proficiency in SQL, Power Query (M), and DAX will be utilized to extract, transform, model, and analyze data from various hospital systems. Ensuring data accuracy and integrity through validation, reconciliation, and documentation is crucial. The role involves identifying trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities, providing proactive recommendations to leadership. Developing user-friendly dashboards with effective visual design and drill-through capabilities will enhance decision-making. The officer will also produce KPI reports, ad-hoc analyses, and data-driven recommendations aligned with organizational objectives. Coordination with data engineering and IT teams to resolve data quality issues and maintain consistent data definitions is expected. Maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive data in compliance with policies and regulations is mandatory.

A significant component of the role, potentially up to 50% for designated positions, involves Service Desk and User Enablement. This includes responding to user-submitted service desk tickets related to dashboards, reports, and analytics access, triaging, troubleshooting, and resolving issues within agreed service levels.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma's degree in a quantitative or analytical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Health Informatics, or an equivalent qualification.
• A healthcare-related background (clinical, public health, health administration, or health informatics) is considered an advantage.
• Relevant certifications in Power BI, data analytics, business intelligence, or healthcare informatics are preferred but not mandatory.
• Proven experience ranging from 0 to 4 years as a data analyst, preferably within healthcare settings.
• Good command of both English and Arabic languages.

Required Competencies

Technical competencies include strong hands-on experience building dashboards end-to-end in a modern BI platform, with Power BI being strongly preferred. Tableau, Qlik, Looker, or comparable platforms are acceptable for candidates willing to transition to Power BI. Working knowledge of SQL is required, enabling the ability to read, modify, and write basic-to-intermediate queries against relational databases for data extraction and validation. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, complex formulas, and data modeling, are also necessary.

Behavioral and professional competencies include strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and ensure data accuracy. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, coupled with a customer-focused approach to supporting and training end users, are essential. A high level of ownership, collaboration, and adaptability, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive continuous improvement, are also key requirements.
