Bechtel Corporation is seeking a BIM Specialist for a full-time position in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. This role is integral to supporting the delivery of the Jubail Project by implementing BIM processes and managing cross-functional collaboration. The specialist will drive an innovative culture within the project, focusing on BIM/CAD model development, coordination, and adherence to the Project BIM Execution Plan (BEP).

Project Overview: Jubail Industrial City

The Jubail Project, located in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, is a significant civil engineering undertaking managed by Bechtel since the mid-1970s. Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company (SABCO) serves as the Management Services Contractor (MSC) for the Royal Commission, overseeing engineering, procurement, and construction. The project involves managing design submissions from local architect/engineering firms and supervising construction work by local contractors in Jubail and Ras Al-Khair Industrial Cities. The contract, renewed until June 2026, focuses on developing new residential communities, iconic buildings, infrastructure, and utility services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review project BIM strategy, requirements, and BIM Execution Plans (BEPs).
• Ensure coordination of BIM activities, including shared coordinate systems, standard templates, clash management, and design review, among design subcontractors.
• Provide BIM production support, maintaining the Common Data Environment (CDE), model federation, interference management, quality checking of deliverables, and model coordination.
• Develop, enhance, communicate, and institutionalize standardized BIM workflows for project stakeholders and subcontractors.
• Develop and enhance standard processes for BIM/3D model health checks against project requirements.
• Maintain project Exchange Information Requirements for flow-down to the supply chain.
• Train the project delivery team on the CDE (ProjectWise) and associated BIM workflows.
• Develop standard workflows for interoperability between BIM/CAD and GIS to support construction, safety, sustainability, and permitting processes.
• Conduct regular assessments to review BEP implementation and compliance, capture lessons learned, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Serve as a liaison between the Royal Commission, the delivery team, and IT for BIM-related issue resolution.
• Perform and manage work in accordance with relevant Project Procedures and information requirements (EIR/AIR/PIR).
• Create standard processes for model-based design quantity take-offs and enable construction quantity reporting and forecasting.
• Support design and construction reviews and coordination, managing issue/action logs.
• Visit job sites to facilitate BIM discussions and execution.
• Provide operational support to BIM coordinators, including BIM Leads at third-party engineering consultants, design firms, and/or subcontractors.
• Participate regularly with the off-project functional BIM team for training, development, knowledge sharing, and lessons learned.
• Develop processes to integrate BIM/3D models with schedules for 4D construction sequence simulation.
• Develop processes to integrate BIM/3D models and Quantity Take-off Templates for construction progress tracking and reporting.
• Ensure the project meets information requirements and industry standards (*, ISO19650).
• Capture lessons learned and manage the implementation of improved workflows.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in BIM processes and implementation. The role requires a strong understanding of BIM/CAD model development, coordination, and adherence to project execution plans. Experience with Common Data Environments (CDEs) such as ProjectWise is essential, along with knowledge of industry standards like ISO19650.
