Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a QC Inspector - Fireproofing to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern Province. This is a full-time position for professionals with 5-10 years of experience in quality control within fireproofing applications.

Role Summary

The QC Inspector - Fireproofing is responsible for conducting inspections and tests on passive fireproofing application activities. The primary objective is to ensure full compliance with project drawings, specifications, and all applicable codes and standards. This role involves verifying the quality of work at various stages of the fireproofing process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of fireproofing application works.
  • Verify surface preparation, primer application, and fireproofing material usage against specified requirements.
  • Witness and confirm thickness (DFT/WFT) checks and adhesion tests as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
  • Validate materials and batch certificates against approved specifications.
  • Document inspection results and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when necessary.
  • Coordinate hold points and inspections with client and third-party inspectors.
  • Maintain comprehensive inspection records, checklists, and daily QC reports.
  • Verify the calibration status of all measuring and test equipment, including thickness gauges, utilized on site.
  • Support the generation of punch lists and verify the closure of identified items for fireproofing works.
  • Ensure all work fronts adhere to approved method statements and fireproofing standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of quality documentation for fireproofing handover dossiers.

Performance Metrics

Performance in this role will be evaluated based on the following indicators:

  • Accuracy and completeness of inspections.
  • Timely identification and reporting of non-conformances.
  • First-time inspection pass rate on assigned work fronts.
  • Adherence to inspection schedules and hold points.
  • Quality and integrity of inspection documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant quality control inspection role, specifically with fireproofing applications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of passive fireproofing application activities, specifications, and industry codes/standards.
  • Proficiency in performing various inspection and testing procedures related to fireproofing.
