Design Senior Fire Protection Engineer (Consultant)

About the Role

Robaeyat Code Engineering Consulting is seeking a Senior Design Fire Protection Engineer (Consultant) to join its team in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on the design, coordination, and review of fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and authority requirements for industrial facilities. The position is based in the Eastern region, specifically in Dammam and Al Khobar.

Role Context and Focus

The Senior Design Fire Protection Engineer will work closely with architects, MEP engineers, consultants, and project teams to develop efficient, code-compliant fire protection design solutions for a wide range of facilities. Preference will be given to candidates with hands-on experience in HCIS processes and requirements, as well as Saudi Civil Defense approval projects. The role requires a strong background in fire protection design for industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop fire protection systems for industrial facilities, including fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems, standpipe and hose reel systems, and clean agent and foam systems where applicable.
• Prepare fire protection design calculations, technical reports, specifications, and detailed design and shop drawings.
• Coordinate fire protection design with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines to ensure proper integration into the overall project.
• Review project requirements and ensure compliance with relevant local and international fire and life safety codes and standards.
• Support the preparation and submission of FEED design documents for HCIS and Civil Defense review and approval.
• Ensure designs meet HCIS regulations, Saudi Building Code requirements, Civil Defense requirements, and NFPA standards.
• Participate in design review meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
• Provide technical support during project execution, including reviewing material submittals, RFIs, method statements, and contractor shop drawings.
• Conduct site visits when required to verify installation compliance with approved drawings and design intent.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and final inspection activities related to fire protection systems.
• Support authority inspections, audits, and approval processes with relevant stakeholders.
• Stay current with developments in fire protection engineering, code updates, and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in fire protection design.
• Strong background in fire protection design for industrial facilities.
• Demonstrated experience with HCIS processes and requirements.
• Experience with Saudi Civil Defense approval projects.
• Proficiency in relevant local and international fire and life safety codes and standards, including NFPA standards and Saudi Building Code requirements.

This position is based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, within the Eastern region, covering Dammam and Al Khobar.
