About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Technical Support Engineer/L to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern region. This full-time role involves providing technical support, managing repairs, and responding to service requests. The position operates with a degree of autonomy, guided by established policies and focused on achieving defined end results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage snag list technical clearance from system project delivery to client until project closure.
  • Classify SAT snag lists into missing items, configuration issues, tickets, and bugs.
  • Liaise with Project Managers regarding missing hardware components.
  • Perform minor configuration corrections on-site and coordinate major corrections with the Engineering team.
  • Implement recommended solutions for tickets and bugs on-site, engage site services for system reinstallation, and raise new tickets for detected bugs.
  • Provide customer support for all DCS-related issues to both internal and external customers.
  • Identify and create business opportunities from the installed base.
  • Collect necessary information, such as logs and traces, for further investigation.
  • Provide full IEC61850 communication support for GE IEDs configuration with GE/non-GE DCS systems.
  • Create L3 cases and follow up with the Center of Excellence (COE).
  • Own the resolution of post-sales technical customer issues, providing Level 1, 2, and 3 technical support.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in a relevant technical support or field service role.
  • Practical knowledge of DS AGILE, GPG, G500/100, D2x, C264, and Legacy systems.
  • Hands-on experience with DCS systems configurations, database creation, testing, and commissioning.
  • Functional knowledge and experience in system architecture, networking, and network component configuration (switches, firewalls, routers, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience in DCS System Troubleshooting.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to modify procedures and practices to meet quality, volume, and timeliness standards.
  • Strong analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy and strategy.
  • Knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; awareness of market competition.
  • Judgment and ability to propose solutions outside set parameters for complex technical processes.
  • Resourceful, utilizing multiple internal and limited external sources for decision-making.
  • Ability to act as a resource for less experienced colleagues and potentially lead small, low-risk projects.
  • Developing skills in building consensus within a team and conveying performance expectations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Al Khobar, Eastern region. The role may involve direct people management responsibilities, including staffing and performance development, for individuals with leadership capabilities.
