About the Role

Aljomaih Energy & Water is seeking an Accountant to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Province. This full-time role involves managing financial transactions, reporting, and compliance for energy projects and operations. The Accountant will ensure accuracy, transparency, and adherence to industry and regulatory standards, reporting directly to the Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Record and review financial transactions in compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare supporting schedules for reporting.
Track and report on the financial performance of ongoing projects, including budgeting and cost management.
Assist in the preparation of management and statutory financial reports.
Ensure proper application of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Support variance analysis of actual versus budget for revenues, costs, and cash flows.
Provide financial data and insights to assist in forecasting and budgeting exercises.
Monitor bank transactions and prepare accurate bank reconciliations.
Assist in weekly and monthly cash flow reporting.
Ensure correct accounting of VAT, Zakat, and other applicable tax requirements.
Prepare documentation to support compliance with regulatory filings.
Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
Support the implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls.
Post and maintain transactions in ERP systems.
Contribute to improvements in financial reporting systems and tools.
Support the finance team with financial analysis and report generation on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the energy sector or a related field. The role requires a strong understanding of financial transactions, reporting, and compliance.

Required Skills

Proficiency in IFRS and local accounting standards.
Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
Ability to maintain general ledger accounts and prepare financial schedules.
Competence in tracking project financial performance, budgeting, and cost management.
Familiarity with preparing management and statutory financial reports.
Knowledge of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Skills in variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Experience with bank reconciliations and cash flow reporting.
Understanding of VAT, Zakat, and other tax requirements.
Ability to prepare documentation for regulatory filings and audits.
Proficiency in ERP systems for transaction posting and maintenance.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern Province. The Accountant will work as part of the finance team, contributing to the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Aljomaih Energy & Water.
