The Role of AFR Operations Specialist

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking an AFR Operations Specialist to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves managing air freight operations, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining high data quality for shipments. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary customer contact for shipment information, incident/complaint management, ad hoc pricing, and claims.
• Ensure accurate capture of costs and revenues against customer profiles and resolve simple and complex issues.
• Administer shipment-level activities, including booking receipt, documentation, and local/international transport.
• Manage shipments in alignment with customer service commitments.
• Track, record, analyze, and improve operational irregularities and exceptions.
• Maintain high shipment data quality.
• Implement regulatory compliance procedures for commodity and shipment locations.
• Route and assign shipments to relevant consolidations to meet service commitments and maximize profits.
• Identify critical shipments and new business requiring additional support.
• Respond to queries, prepare information for customer visits, and participate in operational discussions during visits.
• Execute daily operational tasks in line with resource management and productivity guidelines.
• Prepare invoices, debit/credit notes, and supporting documentation, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Investigate and support invoice disputes.
• Resolve recurring issues and propose process enhancements to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
• Resolve supplier performance issues and suggest improvements.
• Provide functional guidance, advice, or training to less experienced colleagues.
• Apply industry sector or logistics specialist expertise in daily work.

Qualifications and Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrated ability to manage customer interactions and resolve operational issues.
• Proficiency in managing documentation and international transport requirements.
• Strong analytical skills for tracking and improving operational performance.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance procedures related to shipping.
