About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking an Operator, Slag Handling to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position involves overseeing slag handling operations within the SMS area, specifically focusing on slag and tapping pits located under furnaces. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure the smooth movement of the Ladle Transfer Car (LTC) through diligent cleaning and maintenance of tracks.
• Perform housekeeping duties and maintain cleanliness around the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), slag pits, and adjacent areas.
• Manage the safe cooling of hot slag at designated dumping areas using established water shower methods.
• Support shutdown activities by cleaning pits, quenching towers, and chamber areas as required.
• Assist in emergency situations, such as slag overflow, and ensure safe working conditions are maintained.
• Adhere strictly to company safety rules, Health, Safety, and Environment (HS&E) policies, and ensure the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Report any unsafe conditions or accidents promptly and provide support for other operational and housekeeping tasks as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in slag handling or a related industrial operational role.
• Demonstrated understanding of safety protocols and HS&E policies within an industrial environment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with industrial operations and maintenance.

Work Environment

This role operates within the SMS area, specifically managing slag and tapping pits under furnaces. The position is based in Dammam and is a full-time commitment.

Safety and Compliance

A strong commitment to safety is paramount. The Operator is expected to consistently follow all company safety rules, HS&E policies, and ensure the correct use of PPE. Proactive reporting of unsafe conditions and accidents is a key responsibility.
