Safety Officer

About the Role

Al Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker Co. is seeking a Safety Officer to join their team in Dammam. This full-time role focuses on implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies to ensure a safe and compliant working environment. The Safety Officer will be instrumental in upholding company safety standards and local regulatory requirements, while actively promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Compliance & Implementation: Ensure adherence to local occupational health and safety regulations and company policies. Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions, and monitor compliance with safety procedures and safe work practices.
• Risk Assessment & Hazard Control: Perform risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA). Recommend and follow up on the implementation of corrective and preventive actions to mitigate identified risks.
• Incident Management: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses. Prepare detailed incident reports, including root cause analysis, and recommend and monitor corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Safety Training & Awareness: Conduct safety inductions for new employees and contractors. Deliver toolbox talks and safety awareness sessions to promote continuous improvement in safety culture.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive safety records, reports, and compliance documentation. Prepare monthly HSE reports and performance statistics, and ensure permits to work (PTW) are properly issued and controlled.
• Emergency Preparedness: Participate in emergency response planning and drills. Ensure the availability and proper maintenance of fire and safety equipment, and coordinate with emergency services when required.
