Senior Operator Material Handling

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a dedicated Senior Operator, Material Handling to join our operations in Dammam. This full-time position is central to monitoring and operating material handling equipment, ensuring the accurate charging of materials, and upholding the company's stringent safety and environmental policies. The role requires 0-1 years of experience in a relevant operational capacity.

Key Operational Responsibilities

• Check and record all levels and temperatures of hoppers from the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) in the shift log book at the commencement of each shift.
• Charge required materials, including DRI, Fluxes, and Ferro Alloys, into designated hoppers using the HMI from the Material Handling Control Room.
• Accurately calculate the volume and available space within the hopper to confirm the precise quantity of material for charging.
• Inform the Operator about the specific type and quantity of material scheduled for charging.

Equipment Monitoring and Reporting

• Monitor all operational equipment via the HMI and promptly inform the foreman of any breakdowns or operational issues.
• Report any shortage of DRI to the foreman to facilitate the arrangement of a sufficient supply for the furnace.
• Conduct daily checks and inspections of equipment condition prior to operation, reporting any equipment breakdowns to the shift foreman or notifying concerned authorities of any abnormalities observed during shift operation.

Safety and Compliance

• Adhere strictly to company site safety observation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all established safety rules and regulations while working within the plant.
• Understand and comply with all organizational Health, Safety, and Environmental (HS&E) policies.
• Follow all safety instructions specific to assigned job tasks.
• Report damaged Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unsafe machines, or faulty equipment to the relevant staff.
• Maintain provided PPE in good, workable condition.
• Avoid any horseplay and refrain from abusing safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report all accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the responsible personnel.
• Attend all planned safety trainings as required.

This is a full-time role based in Dammam, requiring 0-1 years of experience in material handling or a related industrial operational setting. The position involves working within a plant environment, operating and monitoring specialized equipment.
