Trainee Improvement process

About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Trainee - Improvement Process to join their team in Dammam, Eastern region. This is a full-time position designed for an entry-level professional with 0-1 years of experience. The trainee will engage in a 6-month rotational program across various organizational functions to gain comprehensive understanding of the company's operations, supporting accelerated growth and progression within the organization.

Role Contribution and Development

This role is critical in supporting the Continuous Improvement team to drive operational excellence through Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other process improvement methodologies. The program focuses on developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, contributing to initiatives aimed at improving productivity, quality, delivery, cost, and safety. The trainee will gain practical experience in data analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, and project execution, aligning with the organization's focus on enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Shadow and collaborate with individuals across various organizational roles to learn complex skills and internal company processes, including site experience, product training, and mentorship programs.
• Support Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and operational excellence projects, assisting in identifying process improvement opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and support functions.
• Participate in project teams to enhance productivity, quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency, including collecting and validating project data and preparing documentation.
• Conduct process mapping and value stream mapping exercises to identify waste, bottlenecks, and non-value-added activities, supporting the implementation of standardized work and process optimization.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data, developing dashboards, reports, and KPI tracking tools to support performance reviews with trend analysis and improvement insights.
• Participate in structured problem-solving activities using methodologies such as PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and A3 Problem Solving.
• Support Lean awareness and training programs, participate in Kaizen events and Gemba walks, and assist in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
• Maintain improvement project records, lessons learned, and support the development of work instructions, standard operating procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 0-1 years of experience, typically obtained through advanced education.
• Demonstrated high technical comprehension, including strong conceptual and analytical mindset, with an ability to innovate and improve processes.
• Ability to maintain close and strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, demonstrating leadership and motivational skills.
• High-level comprehension of core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility where applicable.
