Utility Technician

About the Role

Aujan Coca-Cola Beverages Company (ACCBC) is seeking a Utility Technician to join their team in Dammam, Eastern Region. This full-time role supports maintenance operations by setting up, operating, and maintaining machining and workshop equipment. The Utility Technician will be responsible for fabricating fixtures, tooling, and spare parts for utilities, packaging, and process equipment, contributing to equipment availability, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate spare parts according to approved work orders and technical specifications, utilizing samples, drawings, blueprints, and engineering documents to determine machining methods and tolerances.
• Operate standard milling machines, lathes, and other workshop equipment safely and effectively, ensuring proper care and maintenance of all tools.
• Prepare shop drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent software and maintain organized filing of drawings, fabricated parts, tools, and technical documentation, ensuring traceability.
• Assist in maintenance and repair activities for utility equipment and support packaging and process equipment maintenance as assigned, coordinating with Team Leaders and technicians for planned and breakdown maintenance.
• Execute assigned work orders through the maintenance system, ensuring accurate and timely completion and closure, and maintaining organized equipment manuals and records.
• Utilize correct spare parts and materials for fabrication and repairs, identify alternative materials and suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs, and support the sourcing of cost-effective and reliable spare parts.
• Record incidents, failures, and observations accurately in work orders, perform basic root cause analysis, document findings, and propose improvement actions and preventive maintenance activities.
• Use appropriate tools, maintain workshop equipment in good condition, conduct monthly inventory of tools, apply company safety rules, suggest safety improvements, and perform housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and safe workshop.

Performance Indicators

Success in this role will be measured by several key performance indicators, including equipment availability and reliability, work order completion rate and accuracy, reduction in spare parts and maintenance-related costs, and the number of implemented improvement suggestions. Other indicators include tool inventory accuracy and condition, safety performance, housekeeping results, and achieving zero or minimal lost time accidents (LTAs).

Accountabilities

The Utility Technician is accountable for ensuring accurate fabrication and timely delivery of spare parts, maintaining machining equipment, tools, and workshop facilities in safe working condition. This role also involves supporting maintenance activities with minimal downtime impact, maintaining accurate work order records and documentation, and contributing to cost reduction and reliability improvement initiatives.
