Accountant AP / Cost Control

About the Role

CDHorizon Saudi Arabia is seeking an Accountant AP / Cost Control to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on managing accounts payable and ensuring robust cost control within the company's operations, particularly related to equipment rental businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Review procurement, expense, and payment documents to ensure completeness, accuracy, proper approval, and compliance with company policies.
• Manage accounts payable and expense accounting specifically for the equipment rental business, covering areas such as spare parts, logistics, transportation, repair and maintenance services, outsourced labor, subcontracting, and other operating expenses.
• Ensure all expenses are correctly classified, accrued, and recorded within the appropriate accounting period and assigned cost center or project.
• Review the reasonableness of expenses by cross-referencing against contracts, purchase orders, service records, quotations, and approval documents.
• Identify and analyze unusual, duplicate, excessive, or non-standard expenses, performing further investigation as necessary.
• Provide management with alerts and detailed analysis regarding abnormal cost movements, significant variances, and potential control issues.
• Support monthly closing activities, including AP reconciliation, expense accruals, and comprehensive cost analysis.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Operations, and other departments to enhance expense control, improve documentation standards, and streamline payment processes.
• Assist in the development and improvement of expense approval procedures, accounting guidelines, and internal controls.
