About the AI Performance Engineer Role

Qualcomm's Cloud AI team is seeking AI Performance Engineers to join its full-time operations in Riyadh. This role is central to Qualcomm's focus on digital wireless technologies and its involvement in the evolution of Cloud AI, including investments in Deep Learning. The position covers the full product lifecycle, from research and development to commercial deployment of hardware and software solutions for Inference Acceleration. Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Convert, optimize, and deploy models for efficient inference using PyTorch and ONNX.
• Analyze advanced Generative AI algorithms, such as attention mechanisms and Mixture-of-Experts (MoEs), and numerics to identify optimization opportunities.
• Perform performance analysis and optimization of Large Language Models (LLM), Vision-Language Models (VLM), and diffusion models for inference, scaling performance to meet throughput and latency constraints.
• Map next-generation AI workloads onto current and future hardware designs.
• Collaborate with customers and internal compiler, firmware, and platform teams to drive solutions.
• Analyze complex performance or stability issues to determine the root cause of underlying problems.
• Create engineering solutions to provide continuous insights into AI workload performance, guiding improvements over time.
• Design and implement high-level kernels, such as in Triton, with a focus on generating efficient, low-level code.

Required Experience and Skills

This role requires 2-5 years of professional experience in a related field. Candidates should demonstrate a strong foundation in AI/ML concepts and practical application of optimization techniques.
