About DeepSource and the Role

DeepSource is seeking an Application Operations Engineer to join our team in Riyadh, KSA. This is a full-time position suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of enterprise applications.

Role Purpose

The Application Operations Engineer is responsible for the continuous improvement and operational support of enterprise applications. This role encompasses various critical operational areas, including incident management, problem resolution, change and release coordination, backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery planning, and ongoing service improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage L2/L3 functional incidents, including participation in incident bridges and escalation management.
• Perform incident and problem management, including incident trend analysis and implementation of permanent fixes.
• Develop and manage Service Improvement Plans.
• Support release schedule and planning activities.
• Plan and coordinate Change Requests (CRs), including risk and impact assessments.
• Perform application-layer change implementation and conduct post-implementation reviews.
• Handle application configuration requests.
• Monitor application performance and availability.
• Perform event correlation and investigate application-related events.
• Manage application capacity and performance.
• Develop and test application recovery procedures.
• Configure application backups and execute application and data restores.
• Participate in and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) tests.
• Perform OS, database, and middleware hardening activities.
• Apply patches and updates to application components.
• Maintain accurate CMDB records for application components.
• Collaborate with relevant technical teams to ensure application stability and service availability.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in application operations or a related technical field. This role is suitable for individuals at the early stages of their career who are eager to develop expertise in enterprise application support.

The position requires a focus on maintaining robust application environments, including aspects of OS, database, and middleware security and maintenance. Effective collaboration with various technical teams is essential to ensure seamless application stability and continuous service availability.
