About the Opportunity

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated professional for the full-time role of Associate Scientist Admin / Senior Group Leader. This position is integral to our research initiatives, requiring 2-5 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to scientific discovery within a leading medical institution.

Role Summary

This role involves the design and execution of research projects with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities include authoring scientific papers and reports, presenting and discussing research data in various forums, and introducing new scientific or managerial capabilities to the research unit. The Associate Scientist Admin / Senior Group Leader will also be responsible for supervising research technicians, trainees, and students.

Key Accountabilities

• Conduct advanced independent and/or directed research to meet the objectives of Innovation & Research projects.
• Develop new methodologies and technologies as required for project advancement.
• Contribute to manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and for presentations.
• Identify funding opportunities and prepare grant applications.
• Educate others on research techniques, and train and oversee technicians, students, and fellows.
• Engage in professional development activities to enhance skills and foster research independence.
• Assist in the oversight of laboratory operations, including maintaining supplies, equipment, and managing material orders.
• Ensure strict adherence to all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
• Comply with all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in self and peer education, training, and development initiatives.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to support research objectives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience in a research setting.
• Demonstrated scientific productivity during postdoctoral training, evidenced by publications as a first author in peer-reviewed journals and significant technical and scientific contributions to publications.
• A proven role as a co-investigator in at least two (2) fully ongoing research projects.
• A record of presenting original data at least once at a national or international meeting.
