Role Overview: City Manager, External Fulfillment

Amazon Worldwide Operations is responsible for the fulfillment and customer service infrastructure that ensures a consistent, high-quality customer experience. The External Fulfillment team is seeking a City Manager to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing high-visibility, strategic projects and leading operational process improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies. The City Manager will engage with both business requirements and technical architecture with development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor operations of assigned sites and implement improvements.
• Identify and act upon relevant data from multiple sources.
• Anticipate implications based on current data and trends.
• Provide timely notifications regarding situations, problem-solve, and implement recurrence prevention measures.
• Serve as a liaison between internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with objectives, limits, conformance, and information privacy.
• Train and direct associates to ensure adherence to norms and practices.
• Conduct audits of sites for operational conformance, restrictions, and norms.
• Perform audits based on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), analyze data, and propose features to enhance the Seller experience.

A Day in the Life

As a City Manager, you will oversee multiple sites from an operational and compliance perspective. You will collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure adherence to Amazon Standards and operational metrics. Demonstrating customer obsession and a strong sense of ownership, you will identify patterns and disruptions. The role requires the ability to dive deep into details, scrutinize information, and foresee data implications. Flexibility to work weekends and/or overnight shifts regularly is necessary, along with travel to sites for launch, setup, support, auditing, and operational monitoring.
