About Mace and the Project

Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every project. The company is a delivery partner for one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia, a unique mixed-use development encompassing sports facilities, entertainment, arts, and associated infrastructure. This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Role of Commercial Manager MEP

Mace is seeking a Commercial Manager MEP to lead integrated teams throughout the various phases of this significant project. This position requires an experienced professional to oversee commercial management, ensure cost control, and drive successful stakeholder engagement within large-scale developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation and execution of contract documents, warranties, bonds, and licenses, providing contract administration advice throughout project delivery.
  • Measure, value, and agree completed work and contract variations, ensuring compliance with contract terms and accurate financial management.
  • Maintain effective cost control procedures, oversee contract financial reporting, and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients.
  • Identify and assess cost impacts arising from design changes, contract awards, construction activities, client instructions, and project developments.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contractor and subcontractor claims related to delays, variations, and additional costs, providing commercial recommendations.
  • Advise on practical completion, defects rectification, final completion certification, and negotiate and agree final accounts.
  • Lead, manage, and develop Cost Consultants, Managers, and professional teams through coaching, performance management, continuous improvement, and transformational change initiatives.
  • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships, influence senior decision-makers, and support net zero carbon objectives through proactive management of carbon emissions and reduction opportunities.

Qualifications and Professional Development

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or Cost Management, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Professional membership or active pursuit of membership, such as MRICS/RICS, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.

Required Experience

  • Over 10 years of extensive experience in managing major MEP building services procurement, subcontract procurement, commercial management, and final account negotiations across large-scale developments.
  • A proven background with Tier 1 contractors and significant project experience within the GCC region, specifically in delivering complex projects while driving commercial performance, cost control, and successful stakeholder engagement.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a dynamic project environment as part of a dedicated delivery team, contributing to a significant national programme.
