About the Role

McKinsey & Company is seeking a Communications Specialist, Social Healthcare & Public Entities, to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of relevant experience and involves operating within a high-performance environment. The specialist will contribute to building awareness of McKinsey’s capabilities, protecting its reputation, and bringing campaigns to life in priority markets globally, with a focus on the public sector and adjacent areas.

Key Responsibilities

The Communications Specialist will develop, support, and execute creative communication plans and tactics. This includes ensuring appropriate insights reach designated audiences through tailored and impactful messaging, thereby building awareness and engagement with McKinsey’s knowledge. The role also involves shaping the firm's connections with clients, firm members, and alumni to strengthen institutional relationships. Collaboration with senior communications colleagues and stakeholders is central to developing and executing global communications programs, campaigns, media strategies (earned, owned, and paid), events, and publications that support client activation and funnel building across all channels.

Creating Effective Communications

  • Create clear, structured, and engaging written communications products, such as memos, emails, strategic marketing briefs, short-form content, blogs, talking points/scripts, and Q&A documents, adhering rigorously to conventions of written English.
  • Collaborate proactively with internal and external clients and stakeholders to develop and advise on communications, ensuring alignment with audience needs at different stages of the marketing funnel.
  • Drive the development and execution of communications for reports, special projects (*, digital strategy design, knowledge partnership strategy), storytelling (*, social posts, case studies), and external/internal conferences or events (*, forums, webinars, roundtables), utilizing project briefs to ensure strategic outcomes.
  • Conduct strategic assessments to support the execution and prioritization of communication campaigns and events, including competitor insights and event speaker research, and present findings to leadership.
  • Ensure consistent branding, including the firm's signature voice, visuals, and narrative, across all communications platforms and channels to resonate with target audiences and align with broader objectives.

Project Management and Execution

  • Contribute to defining best-in-class communications and events objectives and strategies, encompassing paid media, earned media, CRM support, social media support, web articles, websites, newsletters, storytelling, messaging documents, and presentations.
  • Lead complex projects or workstreams independently or with a designated team, aligning with key stakeholders as required.
  • Drive reputation-building programs through various publishing activities, including monitoring media and public relations and targeted knowledge dissemination.
  • Develop strategies and corresponding metrics to measure impact, implementing related data collection and reporting mechanisms, and applying analysis to optimize decision-making and outreach strategies across the marketing funnel.
  • Lead and execute plans to address routine reputation risks, with appropriate alignment.
  • Manage data through reports and scorecards to track and analyze relevant metrics and contextualize insights, such as client development, ROI, share of voice, and media engagement programs.
  • Synthesize and share audience insights regularly with stakeholders, adjusting outreach approaches to optimize engagement.
  • Coordinate the creation of contact databases to maximize dissemination and engagement.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant communications field. A strong ability to create clear, structured, and engaging written communications, adhering to rigorous English language conventions, is essential.
