About the Role

SmartChoice International GCC, a specialist technology consultancy, is seeking a Data Architect to support client engagements in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role focuses on delivering expertise across data architecture, data management, and enterprise architecture initiatives.

Role Purpose

The Data Architect will be instrumental in helping client organizations define and improve their data architecture. Key responsibilities include establishing effective data standards and practices, and translating diverse business requirements into scalable data structures and robust target-state architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and maintain conceptual and logical data models aligned with business and technology requirements.
• Define and apply data architecture principles, standards, and best practices.
• Map data entities and domains across business capabilities, applications, and underlying data sources.
• Support initiatives across data governance, metadata, data quality, data integration, and master data management (MDM).
• Assess existing data architectures, identify gaps, and contribute to target-state architecture and transformation roadmaps.
• Work with business and technology stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into practical architecture solutions.
• Contribute to data architecture documentation, standards, frameworks, and governance processes.
• Support wider enterprise architecture and data management initiatives across client engagements.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in data architecture and data modelling, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the wider enterprise environment. This role requires comfort in collaborating across business and technology teams, analysing current-state data landscapes, and defining practical target-state data architectures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience in data architecture and modelling.
• Ability to work effectively with both business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience in assessing existing data architectures and contributing to transformation roadmaps.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience is required.

Location and Employment Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a client-facing consultancy environment.
