Director Public Health and Community Engagement

About the Role

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking a Director - Public Health and Community Engagement to establish and lead the public health function across Qiddiya City. This full-time position, based in Riyadh Province, specifically Riyadh, involves developing Qiddiya’s five-year public health strategy and establishing the necessary policies, standards, and systems to protect the health of residents, employees, contractors, and visitors. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in public health practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Qiddiya’s five-year public health plan and establish the public health policy framework, standards, thresholds, and intervention triggers.
• Translate national health priorities and Ministry of Health requirements into practical policies for Qiddiya City.
• Design and oversee disease surveillance systems across Qiddiya assets and contracted healthcare provider locations, ensuring compliance with notifiable disease reporting.
• Lead outbreak investigations, chair the outbreak control team, and oversee contact tracing, disease prevention, and vaccination requirements.
• Establish occupational health standards for Qiddiya employees, contractors, and service providers, defining health surveillance requirements for specific roles.
• Provide strategic oversight of community health engagement programs, including the Qiddiya Life Saver Program and Public Access Defibrillator network plan.
• Lead, manage, and develop the public health team, representing Medical Operations on public health matters internally and externally.
• Manage budgets, resources, contracts, and departmental priorities, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Public Health Strategy and Policy Development

This role involves developing population health profiles, conducting risk assessments, and creating public health data models. The Director will advise the Executive Director on long-term strategy, resource allocation, partnerships, and public health priorities, ensuring alignment with national health objectives.

Disease Surveillance and Outbreak Management

The Director will be responsible for providing recommendations regarding the closure of venues or assets during public health incidents and maintaining effective reporting and escalation relationships with relevant health authorities. This includes defining environmental health information requirements from internal and external partners.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: A Master of Public Health, or an equivalent postgraduate qualification in public health, is mandatory.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in public health practice.
• Proven experience in developing a public health plan, policy framework, or program from its inception.
• Practical experience in disease surveillance and outbreak investigation, including leading or making significant contributions to an outbreak response.
• Experience working across multiple organizations or functions where responsibilities and authority are shared.
• General healthcare, hospital, or clinical management experience alone does not substitute for the required public health experience.
