Divisional Operations Manager Road Transport

About the Role

Tristar Group is seeking a Divisional Operations Manager – Road Transport to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves leading and overseeing road transport operations across assigned locations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with business objectives.

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to manage road transport operations to ensure they are safe, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective. This includes optimizing fleet and manpower utilization, coordinating maintenance, controlling fuel and tyre costs, fostering a strong safety culture, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting continuous improvement. The manager will also embed safety and environmental aspects of sustainability into daily operations and business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily fleet utilization and availability, coordinating with maintenance to minimize downtime and control unnecessary running.
• Manage driver availability, scheduling, and utilization to meet customer requirements and minimize idle time.
• Oversee fuel consumption, implement actions to improve mileage, investigate abnormalities, and identify cost reduction opportunities.
• Monitor tyre utilization, replacement, and performance, implementing controls to maximize life and reduce costs.
• Drive a strong safety culture, monitor driver safety performance, address unsafe practices, conduct spot checks, and participate in incident investigations.
• Maintain close coordination with customers, resolve operational issues, improve service satisfaction, and increase revenues through truck utilization.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance team to improve fleet availability and reliability, reduce costs, and ensure corrective actions for recurring issues.
• Identify and implement initiatives for operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness, establishing KPIs and reviewing processes for continuous improvement.
• Take overall responsibility for RT Operations at the assigned location, including planning, execution, performance monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder alignment.

Operational Management

This role involves comprehensive management of daily road transport operations, ensuring proper planning, control, and execution. The manager will monitor operational performance, take timely corrective actions, and ensure alignment across operations, drivers, maintenance, customers, and management. Responsibilities also include preparing daily, weekly, and monthly reports for stakeholders and participating in customer engagements and business process reviews.

Work Environment

The Divisional Operations Manager will work in a full-time capacity, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires close coordination with various internal teams and external customers to ensure seamless and efficient road transport operations.
