Field Operations Technician Role

GeologicAI is seeking a Field Operations Technician to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves operating rock scanning robots to provide clients with geological insights into their resources. The role requires working in laboratory settings and/or in the field, with a salary of SAR 13,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing core samples for scanning.
• Operating and maintaining scanning equipment.
• Processing scan data using custom software.
• Ensuring the generation of high-quality data for clients.
• Interacting with client geologists to facilitate data utilization.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Experience or knowledge of geological concepts.
• Strong technical skills.
• Ability to work in remote field environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Considerable experience using various Windows software and hardware.
• Efficient file navigation, understanding of file structure, keyboard shortcuts, and remote desktop.
• Familiarity with Windows DOS commands.
• Ability to troubleshoot Ethernet/network switches and hardware connectivity.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools, with basic mechanical knowledge.
• Experience in client-facing communication or customer service.
• Experience with Excel and database management, or coding experience.

Work Environment and Schedule

• Ability to work overnight shifts and shift rotations (typically 2-week rotations).
• Capable of safely lifting and manipulating drill core boxes up to 60 lbs repeatedly. Core helpers/preppers will be provided after training.
• Willingness to adhere to client safety policies when working on operating mine sites.
• Ability to work and travel independently.
• The schedule includes 12-hour shifts, day shifts, night shifts, overtime, and weekend availability.
