About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a dedicated Financial Controller to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is crucial for overseeing and managing all financial aspects, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the effective implementation of financial policies and procedures.

Core Financial Management

• Manage accounts, budgets, and financial activities across various operations divisions to meet information needs for the company, government, and statutory bodies.
• Direct and coordinate the planning and preparation of annual and long-term capital and operating budgets, aligning them with business plans and optimizing financial resources.
• Manage functional counterparts in operating units, addressing cost determination problems such as inventory valuation, cost center labor rates, and distribution of overhead and service pricing.
• Oversee the maintenance of fixed asset records and related depreciation accounts, providing interpretative assistance on proper capitalization/expensing and depreciation methodology.
• Ensure timely and efficient data collection procedures are implemented across departments, and that all data is regularly updated in the respective IT systems.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets, promptly identify and rectify unsatisfactory performance, and capitalize on improvement opportunities.

Financial Planning and Reporting

• Participate in the development of long-range financial forecasts and related budgets, performing variance analysis and considering alternative scenarios and economic prospects.
• Supervise the preparation and submission of annual financial statements for the Support Services Division, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
• Provide the Support Services Division with required financial reports and accounting data, offering suggestions to support decision-making.
• Prepare detailed reports and statistics covering chargebacks, recoveries, deficits, and service charges.
• Supervise the deployment of accounting programs based on approved standard procedures and prepare final accounts and financial status reports for the Support Services Division at year-end.

Leadership and Team Development

• Recruit, recognize, and cultivate high performers to create a robust second line of management, while also guiding or managing low performers.
• Ensure equitable treatment of subordinates and base assessment criteria on performance leading to planned results, maintaining a clear delegation of authority matrix.
• Take full responsibility for operations and deliverables, anticipating problems and making necessary, timely decisions.
• Deliver required results punctually, meeting quality and cost standards, and making a tangible difference that exceeds business expectations.

Strategic Business Operations

• Transform corporate goals into actionable business plans, including planning, follow-up, and execution of annual or development plans.
• Monitor plan performance, initiate actions to strengthen results, take corrective measures, and provide periodic work progress reports.
• Responsible for monitoring and controlling budgets and expenses to achieve optimum cost efficiency.
• Develop the organizational structure according to current requirements and future plans, ensuring job descriptions are available and deployed for all roles.
• Develop and coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities and fully utilizing relevant IT solutions.
